Zambesi began with a simple belief: technology is a life skill, not a lab skill. Knowledge matters most when people can use it, and people can only use it when they can reach both the learning and the tools.

That is why practical skills sit at the centre of what we do. We believe access to technology changes what people can attempt, that collaboration makes every effort stronger, and that African contexts call for solutions that are practical, affordable and locally relevant.

Zambesi therefore brings different stakeholders together (learners, trainers, schools, suppliers, businesses and communities) so that ideas can move from a first spark to a working solution. The ecosystem is intended to grow step by step, with each new course, partner, product and resource adding to the flow.

Zambesi is inspired by the spirit and symbolism of the mighty Zambezi River. We use it as a metaphor, not as a claim to represent or own the river.

Just as streams and tributaries come together to form a powerful river, people, knowledge, skills, technology and ideas become more powerful when they connect.

Zambesi supports learning at every stage: primary and secondary education, vocational training, teacher development, university students, school leavers, professionals and lifelong learners.

Our focus areas include coding, robotics, electronics, AI, STEM, digital literacy, practical technology and entrepreneurship. Every course is mostly hands-on, so people leave with something they have built and a skill they can use.

Manuals, guides, documentation, books, datasheets, training materials, reports and other digital resources keep knowledge flowing after the class ends. Our Downloads centre is part of that flow: some files are open to everyone, others are for signed-in learners, clients or password holders.
